How to Use Social Media to Recruit Real Estate Agents
So you’re interested in using social media to recruit real estate agents. The upsides of social media are it’s effective for generating recruiting appointments, it’s agents’ preferred method of being recruited (just ahead of cold calls), and it can be used both actively and passively.
Here’s how to use it to recruit agents:
#1 – Direct messages
LinkedIn is a great social media platform for recruiting. If you already have agents in your network, you can send them messages for free. If you don’t have agents in your network, you can pay for the premium service and send them messages that way.
Facebook is also a solid platform for generating recruiting appointments. But, you want to use the business side of it, not the personal side. Search for the business pages of the agents you want to recruit and send them messages.
#2 – Posting recruiting messages
This method is less effective for generating recruiting appointments than direct messages, but it’s also less time-consuming. Here are some examples of ways you can use social media posts to recruit agents:
· A professionally done recruiting video series that can also be used in emails and on your website.
· An in-house produced recruiting video series.
· Direct-to-camera posts with you and/or your staff highlighting what you offer agents.
· Video or written testimonials from your current agents.
Posts are much more effective for recruiting when combined with direct messages. Agents who receive recruiting messages will often check out your social media profile(s)/page(s) before responding. Having recruiting content on them makes it more likely the agents will agree to a recruiting appointment.
#3 – Passive posts
When we use the term passive posts, we mean anything you post that doesn’t directly involve recruiting. Here are some examples:
· Videos and photos showing off your culture (i.e. – parties, masterminds, charitable events, etc.).
· Video snippets of your training classes.
· Posts congratulating your agents on winning awards, reaching production milestones, joining your company, and on their anniversaries with the company.
Passive posts are like posting recruiting messages in that they’re most effective when combined with direct messages. A mix of recruiting content and passive posts lets agents get a feel for your company and makes it more likely they will agree to a recruiting appointment.
